Capturing the peak moments of a show is what I strive for. I shot the Dead a lot and by ‘90 Jerry didn’t “rock out” much onstage, so you tried to capture something unique. Jerry was just so energetic. But here he was ending this song with aplomb. The guy next to me said, ‘Did you get that?’ This was pre-digital, so I said, ‘I hope so.’ Back then you didn’t know for sure until you recieved the film back from the processing lab.
